    You have many words that are not the number of phonemes you think. For example, thump has only 4 sounds. /TH/ is one sound, then /u/ /m/ /p/.

    Strung is only 4 phomemes as well. /s/ /t /r/ /ung/

      Hi Sandra, I have “thumps” which is 5 phonemes, not “thump” on this page, and “ung” is a rime unit not a phoneme, so strung is 5 phonemes too.
