Spelling for grown-ups 2: adding suffixes

These videos were all meant to be under 5 minutes, but it’s hard to explain the main ways word endings change before adding a suffix without oversimplifying them. It takes time to give both examples and non-examples. So this video is nearly 12 minutes long, sorry. I’m making up for it by not writing much about it, except I hope it’s useful!

The simplest presentation I’ve ever seen. Gold. Thank you so much Alison!!

Terrific explanations. As a 74 year old, we learnt these forms of the words by trial and error, then memory. To have the suffixes explained is so refreshing.
    Thank you.

Suffix spelling is a minefield and as usual Alison, you’ve highlighted the patterns and demonstrated with examples simply. I point parents to your website time and time again. Many many thanks…Gold indeed.

Thank you these are brilliant not only for my adult english learners and parents helping with phonics but for helping me with more than simply feeling things were right or wrong as I have no memory of this being explicitly taught when I was at school
