This book is about an industrious boy who builds himself a den. His little sister then wants in, with her pet hen. Illustrations add emotion and humour. You can decide whether colouring them in is allowed. Here’s Jen being a typical little sister:

Mayhem ensues when the hen makes a nest and hatches six chicks, which are soon fully grown:Ben issues an ultimatum, and Jen must find new accommodation for her seven hens. We hope this story provokes interesting conversations about sharing with siblings, drawing boundaries, the up and down sides of having pets, being resourceful and solving problems.
