   trouble = “ou says o”
   I was using it with double and noticed it wasn’t a rhyme.

     Sorry Jeanette, I don’t think I’m understanding you correctly. Double and trouble both have /u/ sounds, here’s my list of words with that phoneme-grapheme correspondence: https://www.spelfabet.com.au/spelling-lists/sorted-by-sound/u/ou-as-in-young.        I figured that I must have a non-standard pronunciation when I googled Australian pronunciation.
       For me, “trubble” doesn’t feel right. if I was calling out, “You’re in trouble,” in slow-motion it would come out as “trobble”.’ For me, ‘Pobble’ (As in, The Pobble who no toes, by Edward Lear) rhymes with trouble.
       Comment withdrawn – I’ll keep my nonstandard pronunciation, but won’t promote it!
