Hi Alison, I don’t think peninsula is a word for “sh” as “s”. If you look up:
“how to pronounce peninsula” and click on the voice button, it says:
    (puh-nin-syuh-luh).

I think you should move this to a different list, just a suggestion 🙂
Also thanks for all the other words 😀

      P.S:
      Also insulate…

The Macquarie Dictionary says “/ˈɪnʃuleɪt/ (say ‘inshoohlayt) for ‘insulate’ so I’m sticking to what I have, but realise that not all readers of this website have an Australian accent, so in your accent that’s probably not the case. Just put it in the category that makes sense in your accent.

Hi, the Macquarie Dictionary says there are two ways to pronounce the ‘s’ in peninsula, /pəˈnɪnʃəlÉ™/ (say puh’ninshuhluh), and /pəˈnɪnsjÉ™lÉ™/ (say puh’ninsyuhluh), so I will take it off this list, thanks for the prompt. I think that when I went through the whole dictionary and made up these lists, about 15 years ago, only one pronunciation (as /sh/) was listed in the Macquarie. Thanks!
