Build and spell words with prefixes and suffixes, adjusting junctures if necessary e.g. doubling final consonants, dropping final ‘e’, changing ‘y’ to ‘i’, changing ‘in’ to ‘im’, ‘il’ or ‘ir’, or changing ‘d’ to ‘s’. Also practise when NOT to adjust junctures.

Variation suggested by Shona Archer: Deal 10 cards to each player. Players each make and write as many words as they can, using each card only once. They get one point per card used, with an optional extra point for correct juncture changes.
