Description

A dozen simple, printable card games to help kids practise adding prefixes and suffixes to words, and spelling them correctly, doubling final consonants, dropping final ‘e’ and changing ‘y’ into ‘i’ when necessary.

This set revises these skills and adds extra prefixes and suffixes, and the concept of chameleon/assimilated prefixes (e.g. in+possible=impossible, in+legal=illegal), words where ‘d’ changes to ‘s’ e.g. extend+ion=extension, and allomorphs like -ous/-ious and -ify/-ific.

Each game prints on 3 pieces of A4 light cardboard, and if you use photo paper there’s no need to laminate them. They fit snugly in a widely-available (at least in Australia) and affordable plastic storage box. There are video demonstrations of each game online, just click on the relevant link below:
